Would like to know if someone could tell me what would make a dozer overheat, after you let it set and idle for about 5 minutes it will cool down. And also what would make one bypass? THANKS A LOT. ALICE
There are many things that could cause overheating. Check the obvious first. Coolant level in radiator. Check for plugged cooling fins on radiator and or oil cooler. Radiator plugged internally. Run engine at high RPM and watch hoses for colapse. This would indicate internally plugged radiator possibly. Lower hose should have internal spring though I believe, so if it does not colapse it does not necessarily mean the rad. is not plugged internally. Watch for flow in top of rad. Check for slipping fan belt. Check for stuck thermostat. Try running with thermostat removed. Do not run without thermostat indefinately though as cool temps. are as bad as overheating. Temp should be around 180-190. Check for inaccurate gauge. What do you mean by "bypass"? Feel free to email me directly with any other questions you may have. Steve. sales@pdmechanical.com
Thanks Steve you helped him think alot He found the problem it was the fan blade. Thanks Alice
