My 965e will run fine for about 30 minutes and after that my first gear will stall out or slip. The other gears work fine, i will have to use 2nd to do the pushing, it draind out off all the old fluid and added new. That did not help it any. is my torque converter gone bad or something else.

don't think it is converter or it would not work in second more likley the first gear clutch pack in transmission because that is the one you use most

is there a simple way to check the clutch pack

should be pressure test points on the trans someplace install a gauge and see what the pressure is doing in first you will find it droping off

should be rite on the top front of the trans remove one of the small plugs and hook up the gauge. Use one that goes above 300psi. Place in 1st gear and rev up some to check for the loss of pressures.

if the pressure drops what does the indicate and what do i need to do to fix it, get a clutch pack installed and if the pressure does not drop what coulds be the problem

what it means is that the fluids are bypassing which could mean several things.. Wear in the clutch paks the usual cause, between the drum and shaft wear. rubber seal may be blown on the line from torque converter to 1st and reverse. usually brittle from heat letting fluids bypass or could be blown or pieces missing. Its a process of elimnation but concentrate on the clutch pak for the gear that don't work
