Anyone have experience with multifuel engines?

I know of Detroits running multifuel. What are some of the others? Think I've seen a perkins too.

I have handled a lot of military diesels that were called multifuel enines, made by continental, hercules and white engine companies, I have parts and engines like this for sale if anyone is interested. They were typically place in 10 wheel drive medium duty trucks

Dave - When the military calls them multifuel, what do they mean??
Can they run on oil, butter, lard, propane or what??
Do they need modification to run on other fuels, or do they run on any fuel without changing anything??

Multi fuel means they can run on a variety of fuels.
Mainly Kerosene jet fuel #1 etc., Diesel, Gasoline etc.
Its supposed to run on what ever is in the field and readily available.
I know that the Detroits multifuel engine had a pretty high compression ratio. Because gasoline has a pretty low cetane rating. Yeah hard to believe it.

I know that french truck manufacturer Berliet made a lot of these engines. They were used mainly on 6WD 4tons GBC8KT truck. The engine is a 5 cylinders which develops 125HP. It was the standard french army truck, but also Arabian army had some of it. At the moment, they are rebuilt with new cab and new Renault 6Cyl engine, but a lot are sold.
